Early Life

Karl Urban was born on 7 June 1972 in Wellington, New Zealand. Urban’s father was an immigrant of German and retained a leather goods store. Also, his mother single time worked in Wellington for Film Facilities. Therefore, his mother made a way for young Urban to go to the classic New Zealand cinema.

That settled him to concentrate in the film industry. In his childhood, he attends St Mark’s Church School, where he displays his interest in early love for public action. Furthermore, Kurl Urban did his first acting role when he is 8 years old. Also, his role had a single line in the television series Pioneer Woman of one episode in New Zealand.

However, he continues acting at the school level for stage productions, but professionally he cannot act again till after high school. After high school, he goes to Wellington College in 1986–1990. After college level, he joined at Victoria University of Wellington for the degree of Bachelor of Arts program. Nonetheless, he starts his career of acting after one year of his degree program.

After a few years, he seemed in numerous local TV commercials also in theater roles in the area of Wellington. In the end, he moved to Auckland, where he was presented several guest roles in TV shows, such as heroin addicts playing in the police drama Shark in the Park.  In 1995, Urban then moved for a short time to Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia, before returning to New Zealand the next year.

Career

Karl Urban worked in American/New Zealand TV series worldwide in different series such as Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and on its spin-off Xena: Warrior Princess, in which he played the recurring roles of individually Cupid and Julius Caesar from 1997 to 2001. Furthermore, he also made arrivals in the first season of Xena as Mael in the episode “Altared States”, before as Kor in the episode “Lifeblood” from the 5th season.

In New Zealand, both programs were filmed. After that, he worked in the offbeat rural romance The Price of Milk in 2001. Also, for that act, he acknowledged his first nomination in Qantas Film and Television Awards in New Zealand.

Karl Urban far ahead worked in the portrayal of policeman Nick Harvey in Out of the Blue and won acclaim, a performance of New Zealand’s Aramoana massacre, for which he won Best Supporting Actor in 2008 in the Qantas Film and Television Award.
