Early Life
Taysom Shawn Hill was born on August 23, 1990, in Pocatello, Idaho, USA. He was born to American parents Doug Hill and also his wife, Natalie. The NFL player was named after Taysom Rotary Park in his hometown of Idaho. Hill was brought up with his three brothers – Celeste, Dexter, and Jordan Hill.
Sadly, he lost his younger brother Dexter after a brief illness in March 2016. Dexter’s death affected him as much as Dexter, who guided him to the game of football.
As a chap, Taysom attended Highland High School, where he began his career in football. There, Taysom was a three-sport player. He participated in soccer as well as basketball and other track events. In his senior year in 2009, he completed 2,269 passing yards with 18 touchdowns.
As a result of his outstanding performance, he received numerous accolades including the Gatorade, All-Idaho, All-Conference, and All-Region Player of the Year awards.
Soon after his graduation, Taysom enrolled at Brigham Young University for his youth career. Prior to the start of his college career, Taysom, who is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was assigned as a missionary to Australia from 2009 to 2011. Upon returning to the United States, Taysom continued his football career at Brigham Young University.

Unfortunately, he suffered from injuries throughout his career and failed to keep a remarkable record. In his freshman season in 2012, he was made the second-string quarterback and after six appearances, Taysom suffered a knee injury, which he missed the rest of the season. As a sophomore in 2013, Taysom became the starting quarterback for his team. However, the injury-plagued quarterback ended his second season as a result of a leg injury.
Undoubtedly, he returned to the football field after recovering and suffered another injury to his foot at quarterback, against the 2015 season opener Nebraska, which kept him away from the entire 2015 season. In 2016, he suffered from a hyper elbow extension that ended her college career.
Professional Career
Coming from an unsuccessful collegiate career, Taysom Hill was not invited to the NFL Draft Combine Drill. He showed it at his school’s pro day where he demonstrated a lot of potential in front of NFL scouts. After the 2017 NFL Draft, the utility player signed a contract with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted agent. He was featured in the Packers preseason game where he made 14 passes with two touchdowns. He was dropped by the Packers before the start of the 2017 season.
Shortly afterward, Taysom was recruited by the New Orleans Saints and made the starting squad in December 2017. He played his first professional game against the Carolina Panthers. During the game, the player scored two tackles against the Panthers’ kick returner. The following season, he was made the third-string quarterback for the team and played in alternate positions. Amazingly, Taysom Hill has continued to improve his game and still has plenty of time to prove himself in the league.
