Carl Lewis Bio
Carl Lewis was born on July 1, 1961, in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. He became the biggest track and field star ever. His career spanned from 1979 to 1996 and included nine Olympic gold medals. His performance at the 1984 Olympics earned him four gold medals in the 100m, 200m, Carl Lewis long jump and 4 * 100m transmit. That success was similar to that of Owens in the 1936 Olympics. Carl Lewis Early Career
After graduating from high school in 1979, Carl devoted himself to track and field. Although a sports enthusiast, he intended to earn a living. During his career, he played a key role in advancing athletics from an amateur sport to a purely professional career. By 1980, he had qualified for the U.S. Olympic Team, but, boycotting the US on Soviet invasion of Afghanistan meant that he had no chance to participate in the Olympics.
In the early 1980s, it made considerable strides in both the long jump and the 100-meter mark. He broke 10 seconds for 100 meters and jumped over 8.50m on some occasions. In doing so, he began to draw closer to Bob Beamon’s tremendous record from the 1968 Olympics (8.9 meters). At the 1983 World Championships inaugural, Carl won the gold in the 100m, 200m, and long jumps, and called himself the world’s number one sprinter and long jumper.
1984 Olympics Four Gold Medals
More success came after the 1984 Olympics, where it became popular in the United States – where athletics is a minority sport outside the Olympics. He tried to equate four historic gold medalists like Jesse Owens at the 1936 Olympics. He managed to win gold in the 100m, 200m, long jump and 4 * 100m relay.
It was a remarkable achievement, though Carl’s disappointment did not endorse him and the popularity he had hoped for. The second decision was criticized for trying to end its last four long jumps. (Many people hope he can break Bob Bevin’s record and try to win a gold medal.)
After the Los Angeles Olympics, Canada’s Ben Johnson emerged as Carl Lewis’ rival. The media stirred enmity between the two. Carl suggests that Ben’s rapid rise may be due to drug use, something Johnson Kemp rejected

1988 Seoul Olympics
The Seoul Olympics’ 100-meter final was one of the most anticipated races, and the race went on to win Benson Johnson’s world record time of 9.79 seconds. Carl set a new US record of 9.92s. Three days later, Ben Johnson was disqualified for steroid testing. It was a great shock to the Olympic movement. Carl was given gold. Ben Johnson later admitted in a 1989 investigation into long-term steroid use. At the 1991 World Championships, Carl Lewis was involved in a titanic long jump dual with Mike Paul.
Both were in excellent condition and had personal bests. Carl Lewis jumped 8.83mm, which is very close to Bob Beamon’s record. Mike Powell then jumped at 8.95m with no wind-assisted jump. Finally, someone beat Bob Beamon’s 1968 record. Speaking about the 1991 World Championship later, Lewis said, “This is the biggest meeting ever.”
Since 1990, Carl has adopted a vegetarian diet and argued that he could gain fitness on the evening of his career. At the 1992 Olympics, Lewis won the silver in the long jump but could not qualify for the 100m. Carl Lewis won a record 9th Olympic gold medal in the long jump at the last Olympics of 1996, at the age of 35. The 4 * 100-meter relay team was dropped with Carl winning the record 10th Olympic gold medal. Since retiring after the 1996 Olympics, Carl has participated in numerous films and developed his own brand fitness trainers and equipment. Carl Lewis’s age is 59 years old.
