An adventurer who has explored the Earth to its utmost tippy-top must inevitably venture on to the stars. In Freddy and the Space Ship, Freddy's homemade rocket is accidentally knocked off course. A spacepig must be ready for anything, and Freddy stays calm as he makes an emergency landing on a distant planet that turns out to be remarkably similar to the Earth he has left so far behind, a fact which provides fruitful material for Freddy's philosophizing.
