Product Description

In this powerful new collection of writing guru Natalie Goldberg's poetry and artwork, the celebrated author of Writing Down the Bones focuses her attention on the shifting rhythms of interior life in probing, sensual meditations that both illuminate the mysteries of the past and bring a Zen-like insight into the wondrous simultaneity of all things past, present, and future.

Thousands of readers have embraced Natalie Goldberg's inspirational books on creativity and writing. Now she brings to Top of My Lungs, her first poetry collection to be published in twenty-two years, the same uncompromising integrity and commitment. With full-color reproductions of the author's brilliant original artwork that both complement the poems and stand out on their own, and an introduction by the author, Top of My Lungs gives the reader complete access to a compelling vision, one that is both simple and complex, both withdrawn from and full of life. It's a book to be treasured, a gift book, or a gift to oneself, for the over one million readers who tapped into their creativity through Natalie Goldberg's perennial bestseller Writing Down the Bones.

"Natalie Goldberg is still unabashedly inquisitive, and gloriously capable of awe By my sights, she is a true original." Clarissa Pinkola Est s, author of Women Who Run with the Wolves

"Natalie Goldberg paints as she writes-with a passionate, singular vision. She captures in the dailiness of 'things' something divinely humorous and humorously divine." Julia Cameron, author of The Artist's Way

"Natalie Goldberg is a magician. Seeing the world through her eyes, each of us becomes an artist at living and being-a wondrous feat." Sue Bender, author of Everyday Sacred

Natalie Goldberg is the author of seven books, including Writing Down the Bones, which has sold over one million copies and has been translated into ten languages. For the past twenty-five years, she has been practicing Zen meditation and teaching seminars in writing as a spiritual practice. In 2000, she took orders as a lay Zen priest. She divides her time between St. Paul, Minnesota, where she teaches at the Clouds in Water Zen Center, and Taos, New Mexico.
